Tetsuo: The Iron Man
The Japanese icon for all enthusiasts of cyberpunk, industrial poetics and surrealism! The fans do not need to be introduced. However, to those who have not known Tetsuo yet, director Shinya Tsukamoto presents the altogether kafkaesque transformation, just in a bit more metal fashion. The current theme of cyborgs and human modifications looks even worse in this 1989 film than in your most frightening dreams. How far can implanting parts of technics into your body in good faith go? Much further than you could imagine. And if you think the pimple on your face is just acne, you haven’t seen Tetsuo yet! Jeff Goldblum alias Cronenberg’s Fly is no match for it.
