Submissions to the festival’s competition in sections are officially open, the deadline being December 31, 2021. The films can be registered to the festival via the FilmFreeWay platform www.filmfreeway.com/FutureGate for free.

Future Gate Sci-fi Film Festival will take place in February 2022, opens the following sections:

  • International Competition – The competition of international feature-length science fiction film.
  • Students Competition This award is dedicated to young film makers till 30 years old or students from Czech and Slovak republic. The maximum running time of film in the competition is 20 minutes.

  • International Competition

    The competition of international feature-length science-fiction films. The minimum running time of film in the competition is 70 minutes. Film must be completed in the 24 months prior to the Festival, shot in any format, and classified as science-fiction genre in their broadest sense. The films must not have been released in the Czech republic yet. The Festival Jury confer the award to the Best Film. The audience vote for Audience Award.

    Students Competition

    This award is dedicated to young film makers till 30 years old or students. Film must be completed in January 1st, 2020 earliest, shot in any format, and classified as science-fiction genre in their broadest sense. Only films made in the Czech and Slovak republic can be submited. The maximum running time of film in the competition is 20 minutes. Festival Jury will choose 3 best films. The winner will receive the statuette and will be able to use the mention of the Future Gate Sci-fi Film Festival Best Student Film for promoting purposes of the film, including the official laurel stamp graphic design provided by the Festival. Also the authors of the best 3 films will receive a budget voucher in postproduction studios for their future-works.
