The Iron Giant

A legend of animated sci-fi films on the big screen. The directorial debut of Brad Bird who, in addition to Ratatouille and The Incredibles, also directed one episode of Mission: Impossible, is set in the late 1950s. The Cold War is in full swing. Nine-year-old Hogarth escapes the boredom of life in the quiet town of Rockwell by dreaming of alien invasion and battles with Communist agents. His wild fantasies come true when a giant robot falls from the sky into the lake outside the town. Hogarth takes him in but the idyll with his new friend doesn’t last long: the alien visitor has been targeted by government agent Kent Mansley who wants to destroy him at any cost.
